Australia’s first Athletics website Steve Dodt, January 27, 1998December 1, 2023 In January 1998, the Combined Universities Athletics Club (ANU, UC, ADFA) became the first Australian Track and Field Club to have a dedicated website. This was the innovative effort from CUAC Club Captain (1995-1999), Steve Dodt. When not a Canberra Sprint Coach, Steve Dodt is an award winning Webmaster with the Department of Primary Industries and Energy, working on PIENet, the first Australian Government departmental website, first published in 1995. It was Steve’s work publishing the results of the 1996 Australian University Games in Canberra that was the first Athletics website in Australia. He also co-authored Athletics ACT’s first website with Linda Butler and arranged the hosting on the Coombs web server at the ANU on 27 October, 1999. Steve has always been at the forefront of innovation and continues to engage others through his work on the Board of Athletics ACT as the Athlete Representative.
