{"id":563,"date":"2013-11-23T22:41:00","date_gmt":"2013-11-23T22:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/?p=563"},"modified":"2023-12-02T03:14:02","modified_gmt":"2023-12-02T03:14:02","slug":"athletics-acts-grass-track-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/athletics-acts-grass-track-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"Athletics ACT&#8217;s grass track meet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Athletics ACT (AACT) approached Steve Dodt, <a href=\"https:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/president-of-ginninderra-little-athletics-centre\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"556\">President of Ginninderra Little Athletics Centre<\/a>, to assist in achieving one of the 5 key objectives in the AACT Strategic Plan, which is to increase participation numbers in our sport.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The AIS Track would be unavailable for around 6 weeks from mid-November to the end of December 2013. Therefore AACT were looking at a 5-week period in the middle of the summer season to run a series of  &#8216;come-and-try&#8217; style meets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/steve-dodt\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"9\">Steve Dodt took the initiative<\/a> and with the assistance of the Ginninderra Committee and the Club&#8217;s volunteers, organised a meet at Charnwood Oval on behalf of Athletics ACT and Veterans ACT. This was indeed the first initiative of its kind in the ACT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meet targeted new AACT &#8216;participants&#8217; aged 12 years and over, and current ACTLAA, AACT, ACTVAC members were strongly encouraged to participate.
