{"id":560,"date":"2011-10-30T10:53:00","date_gmt":"2011-10-30T10:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/?p=560"},"modified":"2023-12-01T11:03:32","modified_gmt":"2023-12-01T11:03:32","slug":"ginninderra-tigers-carnival-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/ginninderra-tigers-carnival-2011\/","title":{"rendered":"Ginninderra Tigers Carnival 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first major test for newly elected President of Ginninderra Little Athletics Centre, <a href=\"https:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/steve-dodt\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"9\">Steve Dodt<\/a>, was being a Carnival Manager for an event not held by the club in two decades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Carnival was hosted to help celebrate Ginninderra Little Athletics Centre&#8217;s 35th birthday. Some 500 Little Athletes and their families converged on Charnwood Oval for a day full of family fun and fitness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike other similar events held in the ACT by Little Athletics Centres, Ginninderra introduced novelty &#8220;spectator&#8221; events including The Celebrity Sprint, a handicap race over 100m and the signature event of the carnival. Celebrities from sporting, cultural, political and business backgrounds in Canberra all participated. There was also a Club Mascot Race featuring all the local icons from National Sporting teams in the ACT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both races were an instant hit with people flocking from all over the ACT to catch a glimpse.
