{"id":446,"date":"2016-12-09T23:20:00","date_gmt":"2016-12-09T23:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/?p=446"},"modified":"2023-11-30T23:08:42","modified_gmt":"2023-11-30T23:08:42","slug":"inaugural-2016-cbr-sport-award-winner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/inaugural-2016-cbr-sport-award-winner\/","title":{"rendered":"Inaugural 2016 CBR Sport Award winner"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ACT Minister for Sport and Recreation announced that they&nbsp;are&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmtedd.act.gov.au\/open_government\/inform\/act_government_media_releases\/yvette-berry-mla-media-releases\/2016\/cbr-sport-awards-finalists-announced\">recognising finalists<\/a>&nbsp;for their outstanding individual and team sporting performances on the national and international stage during 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Presentations were held at a Gala Dinner at&nbsp;the National Arboretum to celebrate the inaugural CBR Sport Awards Night.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CBR Sport Awards Selection Committee, Chaired by Rob de Castella, noted how fortunate we are to have such high calibre sports people representing this city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Outstanding Service to Sport Award acknowledges the vital role of coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers at both elite and community sport in paid and unpaid capacities. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cbrsportawards.com.au\/steve-dodt-athletics\/\">Inaugural 2016 CBR Sport Award winner is FAST\u2019s Head Coach, Steve Dodt<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cSteven Dodt is a selfless individual who provides leadership, support and direction through his commitment to athletes and the wider athletics community of the ACT. Through personal commitment, endless hard work and tireless effort in a voluntary capacity, Steven makes a significant and positive difference to the sporting lives of many families and children. In all Steven does for the athletics community of Canberra he displays care and a pure heart. Steven\u2019s innovative ideas and on the ground hard work has seen hundreds of children, young adults, and others involved in athletics nurtured, supported, encouraged and provided with opportunities to grow, develop, learn and shine. Steven\u2019s commitment to leadership, innovation and improvement of athletics in the ACT is unsurpassed.
