{"id":1052,"date":"2025-11-16T22:18:25","date_gmt":"2025-11-16T22:18:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/?p=1052"},"modified":"2025-11-16T22:18:29","modified_gmt":"2025-11-16T22:18:29","slug":"supporting-acts-next-generation-of-track-field-talent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/supporting-acts-next-generation-of-track-field-talent\/","title":{"rendered":"Supporting ACT\u2019s Next Generation of Track &amp; Field Talent"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the past month,\u00a0<strong>Steve Dodt<\/strong>\u00a0has successfully completed preparations for both the\u00a0<strong>ACT Under 12 Years Track &amp; Field Team<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>ACT 13 Years and Over Australian All Schools Team<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sprintcoach.training\/canberra\/canberra-sprint-coach-appointed-to-two-act-teams-for-2025-national-championships\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1044\">ensuring ACT\u2019s best young athletes are primed for national competition<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Across four structured sessions, Steve delivered a blend of technical, tactical, and competition-focused training covering key events such as&nbsp;<strong>Relay Finals<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Combined Event disciplines<\/strong>&nbsp;(100 m, Long Jump, Shot Put, and 800 m), as well as&nbsp;<strong>High Jump<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Long Jump<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>800 m<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>1500 m<\/strong>&nbsp;preparation. Each session was built around the individual athlete\u2019s needs, with close consideration for their personal coaching relationships and training cycles \u2014 ensuring every athlete arrived at Nationals confident, healthy, and competition-ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to athlete preparation, Steve also mentored several\u00a0<strong>upcoming ACT coaches<\/strong>, integrating them into the Capital Athletics team environment and providing valuable hands-on experience in performance session delivery.
