National Record smashed Steve Dodt, March 19, 2021December 1, 2023 Nathaniel Halpin (Nate), has smashed Declan Campion’s U18 and U20 200m Australian Record in the Men’s T01 (Deaf) 100m, at the 2021 Australian Para Athletics Track & Field Championships. This is the first Australian Record set by a FAST Running athlete. Nate racing into a +0.8 head wind ran 24.26s, surpassed Declan’s former record of 24.68s set at the AIS on 3 December 2016. It was the second time Nate had broken the record, having earlier beaten the previous best time in the heats of the 200m when Nate ran 24.63s (w:+1.0). This National Record follows Nate’s previous attempt of breaking Declan’s U16 200m Record only to fall 0.4s short, when he ran 26.67s (w: -0.9) at the 2018 Australian All Schools Championships. Nate has also been eyeing off Declan’s 100m record and it has so far eluded him. Declan’s Australian Records are 12.59s (U16) and 12.11s (U18 and U20). In 2019, Nate ran 12.40s (U16) but with a +2.6 tail wind and 12.21s (U20) at the 2021 National Championships. Sprint Coach
